We like the emphasis given to talking about designing flavours and beer recipes on this tour. You’ll gain a good understanding of the different stages involved in the brewing process too. If you feel inspired, try their Craft Brewer’s day.
- Great for beer-lovers
- Good for groups
Visit Edinburgh’s Micro Brewery
Stewart Brewing was founded in 2004 and quickly became Edinburgh’s local independent brewery. They started by producing cask ales before extending to bottled beers and expanding their range even further. The names of their beers reflect their proud Edinburgh heritage. You’ll find bottled beers with names like Hollyrood, Edinburgh Gold and St Giles.
Take a Brewery Tour
Evening tours of the brewery take place every Thursday and Friday night where you’ll be greeted with a welcoming glass of beer (or two) and some light snacks on arrival. The tour of the brewery starts with the pilot brewkit on which they trial recipes, and finishes with the bottling line. The tour ends in the bar where you’ll be able to taste more of their range of beers.
Tips
- There are also drop in tours on Saturday afternoons
- If the tour tickles your tastebuds, you might like to sign up for their Craft Brewing course where you can create your own craft beer
