Train With a UK World Chocolate Master
Ruth Hinks is the entrepreneur behind the multi award-winning chocolatier and patisserie, Cocoa Black. Named UK Confectioner of the Year in 2011, you’ll find her Chocolate & Pastry school and café in a handsome Grade II listed building on the banks of the river Tweed. Such is her reputation, she’s even received a visit from HRH Prince Edward who spent an afternoon rolling chocolate truffles at the school.
Enrol in Chocolate & Pastry School
The school runs day courses so you can dip into different aspects of crafting chocolate. Learn how to make Easter eggs, pralines, ganache or your own chocolate bar. We’re tempted by ‘Make Your Own Chocolate Caramels’.
Design and Make a Chocolate Showpiece
For the more competitive and serious-minded (and perhaps, next budding UK World Chocolate Master?), enrol in the 3 day course ‘Make Your Own Chocolate Competition Showpiece’. You’ll be set the challenge of creating your own 1.2 metre high work of art.
Indulge in a Chocolate Patisserie
If this all sounds too much, simply relax in the café and treat yourself to some freshly prepared chocolate patisserie. With temptations such as dark chocolate & raspberry tart, cherry & white chocolate mousse, and white chocolate & coconut slices, you won’t be disappointed.
