The Foodie Travel Guide

Visit Daylesford Organic Farm

With over 2,000 acres of beautiful Cotswolds countryside, Daylesford is the vision of Lord and Lady Bamford who have been farming organically here for over 30 years. They’ve won many awards for delicious food, sustainable practices, and a popular farmshop café, spa and cookery school.

Shop For Daylesford Organic Cheese

The farm shop is a vision of perfection, straight from the pages of a glossy magazine. In the temperature-controlled cheese room, admire Daylesford’s own award-winning organic cheeses. They produce traditional hard cheeses – Cheddar, single and double Gloucester and two soft cheeses Baywell and Adlestrop. There’s a meat counter, fish counter, bakery and organic wine shop with wines and olive oil coming directly from Léoube, the Bamford’s wine estate in Provence.

Join The Ladies Who Lunch

Have lunch in the light and airy restaurant where dishes include seasonal salads with quiche, venison from the Wootton Estate, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, and organic wines and beers. Daylesford is probably the only farm restaurant where, for an extra charge, you can add boosters like bee pollen and goji berries.

Hang Out at The Old Spot Bar

If you’re after a more chilled out vibe, hang out at the Old Spot bar where you can tuck in to a pizza baked in the wood-fired oven and enjoy a glass of wine.

Perfect Your Cookery Skills

The Cookery School at Daylesford has a varied programme of half, full day or evening courses. Learn nose-to-tail butchery, artisan bread-making, wild food and foraging, knife skills or how to prepare a delicious afternoon tea. All courses use organic produce from the farm so it’s not entirely surprisingly that the school won ‘Sustainable Cookery School of the Year’ in 2014.
