Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning, UK-Wide (September)

The Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning is the charity’s biggest fundraising event. People all over the UK are asked to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. In 2014 alone, £25 million was raised.

Drink Coffee and Raise Money

The first ever Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, it was held again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan.

Support Macmillan Cancer

There are 2.5 million people living in Britain with cancer. One in three of us will get cancer, and it will be one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to face. The goal of Macmillan is to make sure no one faces cancer alone. The charity provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. And because cancer affects more than just those facing it, they are there for friends and family too.

Host A Coffee Morning

Having a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause. Raising £27 will pay for a Macmillan nurse to spend an hour with someone who has just been told they have cancer. Raising £181 could pay for a Macmillan social worker to spend a day helping people with the tricky, every day problems that come with facing cancer. To get involved, simply sign up for your free Coffee Morning Kit which will give you all the information you need to get started.
